variations on a theme: SPACE

drops of jupiter got me thinking about outer space. obviously, it holds a lot of appeal:

a far-out jam:

a thoughtful slow jam:

an optimistic love jam:
(did this come before or after "men are from mars, women are from venus"?)

The last video (WHAT is it? Amazing) truly captures how I feel about space: no bullshit metaphors about personal growth and exploration, not a glam rock re-imagining (though always thoroughly appreciated, especially since Bowie IS actually an alien--a most authentic act), but a fucking scary and serene floating, complete with nebulous ballerinas and the most spaced out music (in the best way) to be playing on headphones in my space suit.

Another space-y reinvention a la Bowie dress-up, 1990's teen sexy style: Britney in her 1999 "Oops I did It Again" video. Check it. Oooooh, such a Barbarella!
