Gotta love the aging hipsters and nerdy men who can appreciate the Sub Pop anniversary and the effortless cool of the French, no matter what genre they're working in.
Nah nah nah and I were reunited for this wondrous free event, tipped of by a certain family member with most excellent taste. I was unsure when we easily breezed to a spot at the front of the room and I promptly got into an argument with the nerd behind me about whether it was appropriate for one to say "bonjour" as a greeting when it was clearly nighttime, or if one must say "bonne nuit" as hello and goodbye after dark. This minor setback was soon forgotten as Les Thugs started doin' their thang. And what a good thang it was. Clearly under the influence of multiple stronger-than-we-realized drinks, punk energy percussion and a mesmerizing guitarist, I was quickly in the groove. From what I could tell, nah nah nah was in it with me. Damn, the French are good at everything.
Even biking. Which is why I'm inside on this beautiful day, blogging my heart out, when I could be outside riding a bike of my own through the glorious, sunny air.
OK. Time to get out there and make those spokes spin.
