Let's talk. Hey y'all! Colito, welcome to the formerly all-ladies power trio that is LOVE GENIUS. Crushes. Goddamn! Real live crushes in waking life are hard to come by. Everyone is either too young, has bad fashion (too much or too little) has strange unbelonging and unattractive subculture mannerisms (thinking urban thugs, white ones) or is too old or too unmotivated or broke or obsessed with their "posse". Yes, these are all on the surface but how do we see deeper when odd stripes and spots are scaring us off?

Talent! Creativity. Good looks! Eccentricity. OOooh social currency and all that jazz... Of course, these all come together in the beautiful, mixed up realm of MUSIC. Rockers like Mick Jagger, crooners like Chris Issac, weirdos like Devendra, DOUBLE HOT brothers like Michael and Marcus Sandison (of Boards of Canada -- conceptual crush!). This brings us to the "classic crush." A man and his antiquated soundmaking tool, he can read music and has a look of concentration that beats the classic "guitar face" any day.

I guess the essence of classic things is that they're kind of impossible to define why they're good other than that they are just cool. I suppose never thought this would extend to classical music (how about...classical literature? painting?) until Glenn came along and rocked my world. Just waiting for a modern -day manifestation...
